Much before the mutiny in 1857, a counter-revolution was initiated by T.B. Macaulay. His purpose was to:
"do our best to form a class of persons Indian in blood and color but English in tastes, in opinion, in morals, and in intellect'',
and he enthusiastically wrote
"Our English schools are flourishing wonderfully; we find it difficult to provide instruction to all. The effect of this education on Hindus is prodigious. No Hindu who has received an English education ever remains sincerely attached to his religion. It is my firm belief that if our plans of education are followed up, there will not be a single idolator among the respected classes 30 years hence. And this will be effected without our efforts to proselytize; I heartily rejoice in the prospect.''
We are told that we gained independence in 1947. Alas, we got only a semblance of political independence. We still are in the chains intellectually, in our minds , in our thoughts.
Numerous ideologies, each capable of destroying a whole nation, have been perpetrated on us. Be it Macaulayism or Socialism, Free-thought or Secularism, the academia and leadership at the highest level is full of people who subscribe to these evil ideologies; and they want to drive these into the very core of we people. The Congress, the BJP, the Communists, the Janata Dal, are all already infused with this blood.
The only way we can save ourselves is by courage and action. We must boldly inquire into our history, gain the timeless and eternal traditional wisdom to use it to combine freedom with responsibility.
This necessitated a clarion call to the Hindus.
O Hindus, realize that no politician is representing you! So you need to choose and send politicians from among yourselves. Make new politicians, make new political parties. Encourage people with spine to become your representatives. Otherwise you will be led by a bunch of Mohandas and Jawahar clones. And surely they will lead you to your doom!
This blog is a step in that direction for a reawakening ...
